White Georgia Officer tells Black Driver ‘I Don’t Care About Black People’

A white Georgia police officer who has been caught on dashcam video during a traffic stop telling a black driver ‘I don’t care about your people‘ has been disciplined and reassigned, police said.

In footage during a November 16 traffic stop at about 2am, officer Maurice Lawson is heard making the comment to the driver, Brian Baker, 33, after issuing traffic citations.

Cobb County police Capt. J.D. Adcock said an investigation found that Lawson violated the department’s code of conduct during the stop northwest of Atlanta, in suburban Cobb County.
